Almost everyone teaches some version of the personal narrative: my daughter wrote one in Kindergarten (“Me and Mount Vernon”), she’s just written another in 3rd grade (“The Best Gift I’ve Ever Gotten”), and she’ll undoubtedly write many, many more as she moves through elementary school, middle, and into high school.
